🎧 S2 E53: Relationship Wisdom from Therapist Mac Stanley Cazeau

What’s good OTC Fam!

Danny here with another issue of our weekly newsletter.

Last week's episode was all about relationships and the tools you need to make them thrive. In this edition of the newsletter I will be featuring some dope insights from my guest, Mac Stanley Cazeau!

🎙 Featured Episode: S2 E53 - Beyond The Exit Plan: Healing Relationships With Mac Stanley Cazeau

Join me as I chat with Mac Stanley Cazeau, LMHC, owner and operator of Therapy Is For Everyone Counseling. Mac shares his own journey of transforming his relationship and how he now helps others do the same. We dive into the difference between conflicts and disagreements, as well as techniques for fostering positive communication with your partner.

If I'm going to talk about relationships, I had to fix my relationship first — me and my partner. We haven't had a conflict in over eight years. But we have disagreements, right? Because we're two different people from two different worlds. So we're going to have two different perspectives on a number of things. But a conflict is a lack of skill sets. We have those skills, right? We continuously implement them. So we're not gonna have a conflict, but we're going to have a disagreement.

Use "I" statements: Express your feelings without blaming your partner by saying, "I feel..." instead of "You make me feel..."

Schedule regular check-ins: Set aside time to discuss your relationship, share your thoughts, and work together on any issues.
